THE locations of proposed fixed speed cameras, ideally mounted on the North-West and West coasts, has been unveiled, but the technology might need to be bulletproof to stop louts shooting them at night.
Tasmania only has two fixed speed cameras, with the RACT and Auditor-General Mike Blake pushing for more to curb speed- related crashes.
However, it is understood police want guarantees any new cameras are bulletproof, with evidence fixed cameras mounted elsewhere have been shot at by vandals.
